Did Buzz Gray start with class of '68?

I have a vague recollection that Ernest Amlin "Buzz" Gray started with the class of '68 before he went as a C/O medic to Vietnam. (I met him when he came back and can't remember the details now.) He is living in the NY area and teaching drama and play-writing at Sarah Lawrence.

Amlin is a good example of a 'missing person' who may or may not have started with our class but who it would be great to invite to a homecoming in 2008, whatever month!!

Yes, Buzz (Ernest) Gray started with the class of '68. I saw him one summer in Santa Fe after he had changed his name to Amlin. That was at least 15 years ago. He was a playwight then, as I recall.

He's included in our database (posted on the Yahoo site) but there's no contact info for him either on the college's online alumni site or in the 2001 Alumni Directory. Sarah Lawrence doesn't show faculty email addresses online (at least I couldn't find them) but I've just emailed to the Theater Department and asked them to forward a message to him, telling him about our activities and asking if he'd like to share his email address.

I talked with Amlin about 12 years ago when he was writing a pice for one of the St. John's publications about alumni in the performing arts. He remembered trying to cast me in a play he was directing but I was involved with Kirk Cheyfitz trying to make a movie. As I recall tutor David Jones was "advising"
us on the movie. Amlin and I corresponded briefly and then I lost touch, I believe he moved to Spain for a while. Recently the producer of a theater company I sometimes work with said he had been in touch with Amlin who had some scripts that were adaptations of some Shakespeare. I'll see if I can get his email.

Yes, Buzz Gray definitely started with us in Santa Fe in the Fall of 1964. He was noteworthy for his Sunday afternoon Shakespeare play readings in the Great Hall. We each took one or more parts (usually more because the number of charactrs outnumbered the student participants). Personally, I learned a great dfeal from Buzz and had a great time.
